The band was born in 2007 from the ashes of Grind Hotel, an old grind-core project founded by lead guitar player/singer Alex. As time went by, Alex composed songs that hugely deviated from the previous genre. This resulted in a Heavy Metal sound influenced by Alternative and Melodic Death Metal. Thus, began the search for another guitar player and a bass player to support the rhythmic section. For the position of guitar player, it was thought Pier, who was already a musician from the same scene, would fit perfectly. Zamma, who had previously collaborated with Alex, was hired for the bass spot. Finally, Enrico completed the line-up. He was contacted for the role of lead vocalist and was able to rise up to the occasion, familiarizing with the band ever since the first rehearsal. Under the moniker of Disintegration the band immediately began in a short period of time, to play many multiple live performances. This suddenly ended as the result of the departing of the drummer. The band then enlisted Sebastiano among its ranks and reshaped quickly. Switching the band's name to Polybius, the quintet entered the Tanzan Music Studio to record their debut album "As The World Burns".
