Roberto Mercurio was born in the province of Monza and Brianza in a simple family, where the love for music and singing is very lively today as it was then. The family environment, in particular the talent of cousin Salvatore Acanfora, a great talented guitarist with a splendid voice, has always stimulated him to study music as self-taught, thus bringing him on the road to singing. Adolescence is dotted with numerous work activities, which give him insight and work culture but prevented him, despite the full support of his parents, to achieve a degree in music. This goal is still a dream today. Roberto's debut takes place in 1986 thanks to Stefano Di Stefano, a friend who introduces him to live, piano bar evenings and some recordings in the basements used as test rooms. In the meantime, he has participated in various regional competitions gaining remarkable success and placing himself at the top places. In 1994 he met Marco Tansini, who in his super studio "Morning Studio" in Milan realized his first album work entitled "A Cildren’s Game", an album never published because it was distributed with great success in the frequent piano bar evenings. In 1995 he decided to devote himself fully to his work and his married life just begun, hanging on the nail both the vocal cords and the artistic vein. The years pass but Roberto continues to compose, write sketches and think of a return to the amateur music scene. Passion never vanished while remaining behind the scenes. In the summer of 2010 he composes a few songs and plans to make it in autumn (with the release at Christmas) but in August of the same year he suddently loses his only true "fan"... his brother Salvatore. In 2014 he knows Eros Morgantino, his personal trainer who becames a fraternal friend. In 2015, during a training session, Eros speaks to him of his poetry - unpublished and never read to anyone; that for Roberto the inspiration for his artistic vein. It's time: Roberto pulls the vocal cords down from the nail and goes back to the search for Marco Tansini, a unique musician, with whom he already had a great understanding at the time. There are ideas that become songs and that, among the many problems of everyday life of a "normal" person, they become the songs of his first true record work. On September 22, 2017, thanks to the collaboration and great experience of Marco Tansini, the will of Mario Percudani to believe in this product and to the strong determination of Roberto "Nella Morsa del Serpente" comes out.
